The Newah Organization of America (NOA) families are deeply saddened to share the sudden passing of Founding Member and 1st President of NOA Mr. Beda Pradhan, beloved husband of NOA’s Life Member (LM) and dedicated volunteer Mrs. Vidya Pradhan, father of Mr. Birendra Pradhan former 1st VP of NOA and father-in-law of Mrs. Sharmila Pradhan (LM), father of Mrs. Saroj Shrestha (LM) and father-in-law of Mr. Prabin D Shrestha former General Secretary of NOA. He passed away at the age of 85 years on Monday, February 15th, 2021 at the Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland, USA. He was born on July 23rd, 1936 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Late Mr. Pradhan is one of the senior-most Newah community members who had devoted his long career in USAID Nepal as a Chief Certified Accountant and after immigrating in US worked at Family and Medical Counseling in Washington, DC as a Certified Accountant. He was a visionary community leader, mentor and played a crucial role in pioneering, preserving and promoting Newah-Nepali culture, heritage and tradition in the US. He was a wellrespected, inspirational and valuable asset to the community. Late Mr. Pradhan was instrumental as a founding member and 1st President of NOA (2002-05), he was also a founding member & Vice President of Nepa Pasa Pucha Amerikaye (NPPA) and affiliated with many community organizations. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Vidya Pradhan, two sons, two daughters, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, five grandsons, two granddaughters, three granddaughters-in-law and one grandson-in-law. We regret the loss of one of our own very prominent NewahNepali community member who touched many lives, served and contributed so much.

The NOA would like to extend heartfelt condolences to the entire Pradhan family. May god give strength and peace to the entire bereaved family members. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Vidya Pradhan and loved ones during this difficult time. Let us pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
